How widespread is the delivery of unbundled legal services?
No studies document the frequency, prevalence, distribution, and growth of limited task representation. The proliferation of educational material, commentary, and opinions on the ethical questions involved; proposed rules; articles; and conferences suggests that there is growing interest in the practice on the part of the bar, as well as among unrepresented litigants. Unbundledlaw.org documents activities in California, Colorado, Florida, Maine, New Mexico, Nevada, North Carolina, Washington, and Wyoming. The 2002 annual meeting of the Conference of Chief Justices and Conference of State Court Administrators conducted a half-day panel on “Self-Represented Litigation: Where We’ve Been, Where We Are, Where We Are Going,” which included unbundled legal services.
