How were the UMAT directed Course in Preparation for Studies in Health Sciences Clinics developed?
A meta-analysis of medical education literature was undertaken, followed by a detailed analysis of UMAT content together with research, consultation, a pilot study and in depth interviews with UMAT test takers. A member of MENSA the high IQ Society then reverse engineered the UMAT test to design suitable training and preparation materials. Section 2 on the UMAT tests empathy a valuable interpersonal skill in practicing as a Health Worker while Sections 1 and 3 are a form of IQ test.
