How were the survey questions developed?
The survey is designed to reflect the many types of solutions and services that Microsoft solutions partners deliver to their customers and to generate feedback on these services. The questions were reviewed by various partner councils. Their feedback was incorporated into the survey’s final design.
On the basis of previous SHM survey experience and new research interests, the SHM Practice Analysis Committee (previously called the Benchmarks Committee) developed survey instruments to examine the following topics: • Group Questionnaire: Practice Profile; Staffing Information; and Financial Information • Individual Questionnaire: Hospitalist Profile; Billing, Encounters, and Hours Worked; and Hospitalist Compensation Each question was accompanied by explicit printed instructions and definitions, to improve the clarity of the responses obtained.
