How were the six additional proposed SPAs identified from the remainder of golden eagle habitat in Scotland?

0

The Scottish Government requested that SNH identify areas which are important for golden eagle in addition to those already classified as SPAs. Six clusters of territories that are particularly important for golden eagle have been identified on the basis of the numbers of breeding pairs, the density of those pairs and their productivity (i.e. the number of chicks that they have raised). See Section 5 – “The information on each proposed site of the proposed SPA” where this is explained.
