How were the Essential Learning Achievements developed?
The 25 Essential Learning Achievements (ELAs) have been identified and developed through a rigorous research and consultation process since 2004. More than 300 teachers and academics have participated in their development and many opportunities were offered for community consultation. In addition, the NSW and Victorian education departments were asked to provide independent expert curriculum advice during their development and the Australian Council Educational Research (ACER) was contracted to conduct an external validation study of the draft framework.
