How were the employment equity “gaps” identified for the four designated groups at Western?

As part of its obligations under the Federal Contractors Program, Western conducts an on-going employment equity survey for its faculty and staff. This survey asks participants to voluntarily self-identify if they are a member of a designated group. Equity & Human Rights Services collects this confidential data and compares it to the available external workforce data in order to determine whether gaps in representation of designated group members exist at Western. For more information please see the Workforce Analysis Summary Report, prepared by Equity & Human Rights Services.
