How were programs selected for funding?
Funding for selected programs will be identified in the Vehicle Registration Fee Expenditure Plan, which will detail how the funds collected from the Vehicle Registration Fee are to be used. According to SB 83 and other State laws, there must be a relationship or benefit between the people who pay the Vehicle Registration Fee and the programs the Vehicle Registration Fee funds. ACCMA will consider funding for a wide array of programs, particularly those for which need has already been identified in adopted ACCMA plans, such as the Countywide Transportation Plan and the Congestion Management Program. ACCMA will then refine the list of funded projects through an extensive public engagement process, soliciting input from residents, the business and labor communities, environmental advocates, and community organizations.
