How well established is Biofeedback in traditional and integrative medicine?
Biofeedback is Solidly Established in both Mainstream and Alternative Medicine and Mental Health. The term Complementary Medicine seems to be replacing Alternative Medicine because it is becoming increasingly clear that both mainstream and alternative health care must come together in every sense including funding. Many forms of Biofeedback entered the mainstream of medicine and mental health long ago, and in the aggregate have been growing steadily both in terms of number of applications and total revenues. Biofeedback is growing because it works. Biofeedback enhances an extraordinary variety of therapies by showing the patient how to participate in his or her own healing process and improving the therapist’s credibility and teaching efficiency. Furthermore, the same equipment used to train the patient is also used to do assessments, thereby documenting the results.
