If it is the most flash that you can afford right now – then it is better than no flash at all! This particular external flash for the money is ok, but probably better as your second flash or as your backup. And, if you’re shooting Canon, the Canon Speedlight is really the one you want. I’d suggest this SunPak PZ42XC model if you must go with third party flash instead: http://www.adorama.com/SUPZ42XCA.html Any Canon Speedlight is still going to be your best bet.
