The transition team members were chosen with the goal of having as diverse a group as possible, one that would be committed to service during this time, and would well represent the parish to parishioners. We tried to include the wide range of age, culture, gender, family status and skills. Why “new” vestments? The closet is full of them! The closet may have been full of vestments, but Father Marquart owned his own and they are now gone. Deacon Dave and Father Iweh own their own as well. The very few we have that actually belong to the parish are 30-40 years old, are stained and faded. We need to have adequate clothing for our incoming priests, whether they stay with us or are visiting. Saint Mary Magdalen and Saint John combined contributed $6,965.09 towards Father Crispin’s welcome gift! With him, we are presently ordering matching white vestments for Easter; and eventually two sets of basic albs and four chasuble sets. That way, any priest serving us will have what he needs.
