How well does GreekKeys Unicode work with Leopard (10.5.x) and with Office 2008/Word 2008?
Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.x), released in late October 2007, had some rocky features, but after the 10.5.2 update (released Feb. 11, 2008) should provide a generally stable and pleasant working environment. The Keyboard Viewer in 10.5.0 and 10.5.1 does not display SMP (5-digit) Unicode code points. This fault has been corrected in 10.5.2. The standard installation of 10.5 brings with it a number of upgraded fonts that include polytonic Greek (Arial, Tahoma, Courier New, Times New Roman among them) and also Arial Unicode, a very full Unicode font that is found on many Windows machines. This makes cross-platform sharing of Word files with polytonic Greek Unicode much easier. Microsoft Office 2008 was released on January 15, 2008. The news is good is that Microsoft’s Mac Business Unit has finally done some of the upgrading of features that should have occurred years ago.
