How well did CLD impact on adult learners?
The CLD service worked effectively with a variety of partners to provide an appropriate range of learning opportunities for adults within the inspection areas. Learning activities included literacy, numeracy, lip reading, information and communication technology (ICT), personal development, health education, parenting, personal safety and work with adults with mental health issues. Staff had developed positive relationships with participants providing very effective individual support in most cases. Participants taking part in most learning activities had made significant gains in confidence and self-esteem in addition to developing an appropriate range of skills, knowledge and understanding. Some participants had developed useful individual learning plans, although this development was not yet consistently applied across all of the learning activity.
