How well can the GreasePerfect system clean used cooking oil for SVO/Biodiesel applications?
There are many factors that contribute to how well waste oil can be filtered into clean oil for fuel. Some factors include: The quality of the oil you are gathering; the temperature of the oil during filtration; the micron rating of the filters you use; How often you are changing the filters; How powerful your transfer pump is pushing waste oil; the elasticity of the filter bag and whether or not you waited for the WVO to settle a bit will all have implications on the resulting cleanliness of your oil. With all these factors at play, it is difficult for any filtering product to guarantee an exact micron rated oil result. We performed dozens of tests with GreasePerfect, and achieved an average 5 micron rated fuel grade oil output in one step with filters that were 25-75% exhausted. Your results may vary. However, understanding the mentioned factors that are in play for producing fuel grade oil will make a big difference. If you recognize that you are filtering oil under less than ideal
