How well can different users adapt the task functionality to their approach to the problem or task?
Adaptability is a partial analog to cognitive flexibility within the scope of the task domain. This may involve more than alternative sequences of operations but also the user of alternative functionality to represent the problem in different forms. If for example the user task involves forecasting by the use of certain statistical techniques, to what extent are other statistical techniques available that might be more preferred by other users. This is the degree to which different psychological preferences for cognitive processes are accommodated within a single task domain.
