How well are pupils supported?
Teachers and support staff were caring and approachable. They were very sensitive to pupils needs and provided a high quality of pastoral care. Staff knew their pupils well and showed strong commitment to ensuring their emotional and physical well-being. They effectively implemented appropriate care and welfare policies, including clearly stated anti-bullying strategies and child protection procedures. All staff had been trained in child protection procedures. Pupils felt safe in school and were confident that staff would take appropriate action to support them if they had a problem. Staff made appropriate arrangements for the safe-keeping and administration of medicines. Health promoting activities included the provision of fresh water and fruit. The school worked very effectively with agencies and specialist staff to assist pupils with additional support needs. Teachers, classroom assistants and special needs auxiliaries provided good support for pupils experiencing difficulty with a
