How was the vote to determine sanitary sewer interest completed?
The County mailed combination ballot/petition forms to all property owners within the Rustic Hills Development. This was necessary in order to comply with the County’s petition requirements for sewer service. Those that did not want sewer service had only to check the “no” box and return the signed form. Those that wanted sewer service were required to include a $100.00 deposit check with their “yes” ballot. A total of 137 petitions/ballots were returned. Ninety-two (92) of those returned were “yes” ballots that included $100.00 deposits. The “yes” votes were based on petitions. We counted only one (1) petition per property. Once the ballots/petitions were reviewed, tallied, and the results presented to the residents, these documents became part of a public record for this project and, as required by law, these documents are available for anyone to review. Anyone interested in reviewing these documents can contact our Public Records Clerk, Dianna Shriver, at (330) 723-9585.
