How was the study area identified for the Medina Lake-to-CPS Project?
The study area for the project is identified based on the end points for the line (in this case, the Medina Lake and Cagnon substations) and by the area in which a substation is required. CPS Energy, LCRA TSC and their consultants review the terrain, various existing constraints (such as established neighborhoods, schools, parkland, endangered species habitats, etc.) and then develop preliminary or proposed route segments. As potential routes are refined and limited, and further comments are received from the public, more in-depth analyses are performed for each potential complete route.
