How was the handbook written?
It was a significant process – never before has there been such extensive and broad-based consultation in the formation of one disaster response text. The people who participated in writing the handbook came from national and international NGOs, UN agencies, and academic institutions. The 2000 Ed. of the handbook contains a list of all contributors. Acknowledgements for the 2004 Ed. are available for the online version of the handbook only.
