How was the experience at Parsons and FIT? Do you think education abroad can help Indian designers?
I enrolled for my Associates in Fashion Designing at FIT in New York. I was on the Dean’s list and was among the 20 students selected for the couture course. I was also awarded the Designer of the Year Award. I did my Masters in Fashion from the Parsons School of Design. Studying at two of the best design schools was an enriching experience. As an alumnus of FIT and Parsons I also got to do an internship with leading international designers. The institute also offered me a scope for conducting research. Education abroad is more hands on. How was it working with Geoffrey Beene? While working with Geoffrey Beene, I learnt that one has to be professional in what one does for being successful. He also taught me the importance of team spirit and leadership skills like assigning tasks to your team members and ensuring that they deliver more than hundred per cent.
