How was the DM Trial conducted?
The DM Trial was a randomized controlled clinical trial, the most rigorous of research designs and often referred to as the gold standard. Participants were randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups for follow-up: • Comparison (No Intervention) 60% of participants • Dietary Change (Intervention) 40% of participants The uneven randomization (60% Comparison and 40% Dietary Change) provided a cost-effective design without compromising the ability of the DM Trial to address its research questions.
