How was it working with Phil Eck on the second album?
We all got along great. He’s a Cancer, I’m a Pisces. We got along on that level. He’s done the Shins, Modest Mouse. But I wanted him because he did the Karp 7″, which had the best drums I’ve heard in a long time. Drum sounds are my number one thing I look for. His are awesome. He was open to trying all this weird shit. He was never imposing, but he was always there to say try this. He’s a good guy to work with, good vibes. I’d do it again in a second. So what was this whole thing with the Ronnie James Dio lawsuit over your name? I honestly believe his lawyers are bored. We couldn’t fight it because we didn’t have any money. Their whole argument was we’re in the same business and things could get confused, like in the record bin. They said some Dio fans had shown up at our shows by accident. I’ve never seen them.
