How was Handel saved from death in a duel?
I was under the impression that it was Handel’s opponent who was saved, but I could be wrong….I seem to remember my Music History Professor (who is known all over the place and sometimes has to leave to conferences in like england because he knows so much) saying that in the duel, Handel was sword fighting and broke his sword on his opponent’s (a singer) brass button….it might have been that the other dude broke his sword on handel’s brass button….
