How was Elias Howe significant to the Industrialization Period (1865-1900)?

Well first of all he DIED in 1867, so all he did after 1865 is probably tell his wife and children he loved them and reminded them to feed the dog after he was dead. But BEFORE that time period all he did of significance was to invent the sewing machine in 1846. Howe’s invention was later improved upon by Isaac Singer but Howe did nothing else of significance. If your teacher gave you those years they certainly need to read more because the question is ridiculous. He didn’t do ANYTHING between 1865 and 1900. And there you have it from a real historian.
