How tyre with silica silane reduces rolling resistance?
New additives improve the use of silica to reduce the rolling resistance of tyres. Tyres with silica treads first appeared about 10 years ago, and offer better fuel economy and improved traction in a variety of weather conditions. The fuel efficiency comes from a low rolling resistance that could cut consumption by some 5 per cent.
