How true is the symbolism in the deities?
Painstaking, research is done for every deity to make it true to what it should be. Lord Ganesha is not shown with Laddoo in his hand as most photos as well as sculptures depict, but instead, he is holding Modhak in his hand, which is true to him. The same rule applies to Goddess Durga. Every instrument, every finger position is very carefully thought about.
