How to use THX Optimizer on Blu-Ray?

0

The THX optimizer is a series of video and audio ‘tests’ that are bundled with certain DVD’s. These test patterns and signals are designed so you can make broad adjustments in the video and/or audio settings of your player, AV receiver, or display. Each test is narrated and captioned, explaining each test and the actions you need to take. You’ll be directed to adjust settings on your display or audio equipment to affect the displayed video or audio test pattern. As with any menu feature, you’ll use your dvd remote to navigate the THX program. It is really quite easy and useful to ‘tweak’ almost any surround system and video monitor – not just THX systems. Results vary, depending on all of your equipment, but it is helpful to do once. The THX optimizer is not a hidden feature; if a DVD does have it, it will be clearly marked on the DVD jacket, as well as an available selection on the DVD title menu or setup menu. Look for the THX logo It’s important note that THX is an exacting standard

I don’t think the IJ: KotCS has the calibrating stuff on it. I remember renting then hearing it had it on there but I couldn’t find it either (I clicked on logos and arrowed past the menu options and got nothing). Then I heard that just because a dvd or blu-ray is THX optimized it does not mean it includes the calibration option in there. Luckily I had T2 on blu-ray and that did have it and was able to use that instead but I gotta call BS on Indy – and I call BS on the whole sad plot of that movie anyway.
