Connect the V-Server Console Port to the PC COM port ( usually a 9-pin female connector) using a DB-9 cable (9-pin cable, one end is male and the other is female). Power on your V-Server. Click “Start” Button of your PC screen, click “Program” and then select “Accessories” (on the top of the menu). Click on the “Hyper Terminal” Folder Icon. Note that the Hypertermianl Application is found under the “Communications” folder of the “Accessories” in Windows 98. Click the “Hypertrm” icon. Give a name (such as V-Server) and choose an icon for your connection. Click “OK”. Another window will come up. Click from the “Connect Using” dropdown box to select the PC COM port you are using (usually, COM1 orCOM2). If you don’t know, choose COM 1 and if this is won’t work, go back and choose COM2. Click “OK”. A “Ports Setting” window will appear, set the “Bits per second”, “Data Bits”, “Parity”, “Stop Bits” and “Flow Control” to “9600”, “8”, “none”, “1” and “None” respectively. Click “OK”.
