How to Use my HDTV as a computer Monitor?
Don’t do it like that. Use a VGA Cable to connect the monitor, start up wait for all to load. Then plug the the HDMI lead from your PC into you TV . It should then come on. You should have the option to CLONE your monitor OR use the TV as and extended desktop for you to drag stuff over to watch on the TV. If you clone the 2 screens you may have problems with aspect ratios as monitors use different aspects/resolutions ie. 1280×1024 and a TV may use 1,920×1,080 so one will look squished up if they are not both wide screen.

Your television has a native resolution that may be different from your computer’s resolution. Adjust your television’s resolution to what your computer is able to display. Consult your HDTV manual for your television’s native resolution and how to adjust it. Create a custom resolution. You may be required to create a custom resolution if your HDTV’s native resolution won’t match your DVI output r
