Not good idea to turn the firewall off , best to always keep it on. Some ISP’s are filtering and blocking limewire at certain times of the day. Try changing the port in Limewire :- Open Limwire>Tools>Options> Advanced>Firewall>Right hand side, Listening on Port>Change that to 64050 > Apply > Then Click OK You could try any port number range from 49152 to 65535 If that doesn’t fix the problem locate and delete the gnutella.net file and restart limewire. If you use XP the file will be in C:\Documents and Settings\*User Name\Application Data\LimeWire *User Name=make sure you type whaever your user name. This might be a hidden file so turn show hidden files and folders on, then locate gnutella.net and delete this file and restart limewire , check if that works. If you use Vista this file will be under C:\Users\*User Name\AppData\Roaming\LimeWire If that doesn’t work then try the suggestions here:
