Because cold sores are related to the herpes simplex virus it means that the virus starts in the nerves making it difficult to treat. In some countries you can buy cold sore plasters that are applied directly to the cold sore and make it look invisible. If the cold sore takes a long time to heal or it spreads then you can go to the doctors and get anti viral tablets which don’t cure the cold sore but help speed up recovery.
