How to travel from Prague to Budapest?

• A popular Eurail route is to travel from Prague (Czech Republic) to Budapest (Hungary). Please note that the direct train (duration: about 7 hours) between these cities goes through Slovakia. Because your Eurail Pass is not valid in Slovakia, you need an additional ticket. At your departure station you can buy a ticket to cover just the Slovak part. This is cheaper then to buy it in the train. You can also research an alternative (longer) route over Vienna (Austria) with the help of a timetable.
