How to train a dog to sit when it isn interested in treats?
A lot of dogs are not food or toy motivated so don’t be too concerned about that. I have never used treats to train my dogs, but I am not a trainer, I am a rehabilitation and behavior therapist. Jaeniq has posted some good advice in terms of the options for training available to you, but study your dogs behavior when you get them ready for a training session. If you choose to go down the route of training and obedience, get yourself a good trainer, even if it’s just for one session to teach you the basics. If the dogs are uninterested in you or what you are doing and don’t listen to you in other areas as well, you need to set some boundaries for the dogs and make sure they see you as being their leader. I can send you detailed info on this if you email or PM me, far too much to write here, but in case you don’t, I will just make the following suggestions. Have the dog (one at a time) on a loose lead in front of you. If the dog tries to walk away, give it a little check with the lead, j
