How to tie the 2004 SE Asian tsunami to the Hornerstown formation?
Hi…this is an interesting question of how to relate the two topics. Firstly I have briefly looked at some information on the Hornerstown formation and essentially it has been described as a “green glauconitic quartz sand”. The glauconite is important since many geologists seem to suggest that glauconite rich rocks including those of the Horners town formation may in fact have been deposited as a result of a high energy marine event and possibly even a Tsunami. Im not sure how much detail your project needs to be done in but you could omment on the following topcs: – argue a likely depositional environment of the Hornerstown formation (get this from websites/papers). Mention in this part the significance of the glauconite and how it can possibly show good evidence of a tsunami event during the hornerstown deposition. – mention any important fossils in the HT formation: one would expect a complete dissapearance of fossil types at the top of the HT formation given that a tsunami event c
