how to thicken spaghetti sauce

Simmer on low uncovered for a couple of hours. You could also take a stick blender, immerse it in regular spaghetti sauce to make the chunks go way. This way you could avoid the boiling of the soup method. I would not recommend the cornstarch method as it will taste “off” though the cornstarch has no flavor…go figure!

Put it in a sauce pan and cook it on a verry low heat until the soup reduces down. Do not add cornstarch, flour etc… it will alter your flavors and you will not be happy. You could add a little tomato paste however that will most likely alter the flavor but it would thicken it. But simply reducng it on the stove is the best way to go.

I recommend simmering with the lid off for 20-30 minutes. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t scorch. This should evaporate some of the moisture. Personally I don’t like adding flour to a marinara sauce.
