How to take care of two goldfish?
2 goldfish in a small unfiltered tank – you wont have them for very long. The smaller the tank, the MORE important filtering is. In a large tank the waste is diluted and you get some filtering action from the gravel and plants. If the tank was the size of a pond, you wouldn’t actually need a filter for a couple of fish. But in a small tank, waste builds up quickly and poisons the fish. Goldfish should live a long time, 10-20 years, and grow BIG, 6-12″, so you need a decent size tank for them. Think 20-gal, bigger if you want more fish, or the larger comets and commons.
