To solve for the x and y intercepts of an equation is fairly easy. To find the y-intercept of an equation, set x=0 in the equation. However, to find the x-intercept you let y=0 in the equation. For example, to find the x and y intercepts of 3x+ 5y= 15, we first let x=0 to find the y-intercept, which gives us that y=3 or the y-intercept when we solve the equation.
