Step 1 Setup your Linksys router near your computer, DSL modem and a power outlet. Place the router in an ventilated area at about waist level. Step 2 Run an Ethernet cable from the yellow “Internet” port on the back of your DSL modem, to the “WAN” port on the back of you Linksys router. Step 3 Connect the router to your computer with another Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the cable into one of your router’s four “LAN” Ethernet ports, and plug the other end of the cable into the Ethernet port on your computer’s network card. Step 4 Insert the tip of the Linksys’s power adapter into the power port on the back of the router, and plug the transformer end of the power adapter into a nearby power outlet. Step 5 Boot up your computer and launch your Internet browser. Type “192.168.1.1” followed by the “Enter” key into your browser’s address bar to access your router’s graphical interface.
