How to setup an EFTPS account?
• An EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System) is one way in which the IRS can receive payment from taxpayers. Many companies already have their EFTPS account established to make payroll deposits and pay taxes. • To set up an EFTPS account visit www.eftps.gov. • Before you complete your EFTPS Enrollment Form, you will need to have the following information handy: • Your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). • For Businesses this is your Employer Identification Number (EIN). For Individuals this is your Social Security Number (SSN). • 3 How to apply for PTIN? • Apply for a Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) only if you are a paid tax return preparer and you do not want to disclose your Social Security Number (SSN) on returns you prepare.
