The “Manufacturer type and model ( MFRTYPMDL)” is used by the AS/400 to select the correct printer driver. For more information, click here. A printer driver list is provided as a standard feature. This list is regularly updated by IBM. From OS/400 V4R4 drivers are provided for most printers. Note: if the driver for your specific printer is not available a “customized” printer driver can be created using the RTVWSCST and CRTWSCST commands.
