How to self teach yourself guitar (excuse the grammatical errors..)?

There’s a lot of books you can take out from a library or purchase from a bookstore or music store. I also got these cards that are marked with the tabs and you slide them under the strings, place your fingers, and remove the card. However, I’m not sure where I got them. YouTube videos were also a big help, and there are a lot of websites like ultimate-guitar.com and tabs4acoustic.com that you can use to look up tabs as well as songs. I think your musical experience will be a big help in teaching yourself guitar because you know about rhythm, chords, etc. If and when you get a guitar, make sure you get it tuned and pick up a few picks. If you have a local music store, you could get a few books on acoustic guitar as well. Good luck!

I had the same idea to teach myself how to play the guitar. I started out by looking up guitar tabs and learning how to play other peoples songs, and that helped me to memorize chords. Then I started watching videos on youtube about different finger picking techniques and that’s really helped me.
