How to select the correct Air Purifier ?
An Air Purifier with a very high cleaning efficiency ( as in the case of HEPA filters ) is not necessarily the best choice. Due to its extremely small pore size, there is a higher pressure drop across the HEPA filter and the Air Flow Rate is also lower. Such a filter may give a very good result in the immediate vicinity of the Air Purifier, but at a slight distance away from it, the effects will not be so well pronounced due to lesser air flow rates. On the other hand, an Air Purifier with a higher air flow rate but a lower cleaning efficiency will result in a far more cleaner environment over the whole room. It is not difficult these days to import products which may be hopeless in performance but are definitely good in looks, and then sell them with the help of a regular sales effort. To prevent ending up with such a faulty product, it is advisable to ask the supplier of the Air Purifier if he has any performance evaluation certificates of his products from any certified testing labo
