How to select a diamond blade for cutting stone?
The main specifications that determine the property of a diamond blade include: the diamond grit’s size, hardness and concentration, and the bond’s hardness and abrasiveness. Different applications require different diamond blades: 1. For stones with high hardness and density, we suggest using diamonds of a smaller grit size and greater hardness. The diamond concentration should also be lower. The bond should be a bit softer in order to provide a high efficiency cutting while preventing chipping. 2. For less hard stones, the diamonds’ grit size can be larger, and a medium hardness diamond can be used, with a bit higher concentration. This bond should have a better abrasiveness. This type of bond will provide good cutting efficiency and prolong the cutting life. 3. For highly abrasive stone, the diamonds used to be harder, larger, and of high concentration. The bond should be harder and have good abrasiveness.
