How to run Scandisk and Defrag and why?
First lets start with what Scandisk and Defrag means. Scandisk looks over your hard drive to make sure all is running properly and to make sure there is no bad sector on the hard drive. Defrag takes your files and rearranges them in an orderly manner and it also looks for bad files and bad sectors. Depending how often you use your computer you should run these checks on a monthly basis. This will help keep your computer stable, fast and efficient. To start open you “My Computer” folder, once there using your mouse right click on C Drive, Select properties, you will see tabs at the top, select tools, Then select Error-Checking, this is the first option at the top, will start scandisk. Once scandisk has finished you can start Defrag by following the same steps as above but instead of selecting error-checking you will select defragmentation, this is the last option at the bottom.
