Well, to run a spelling bee you would need to get local schools interested in participating. Once you have the schools on board, you would need to determine what venue you would hold the spelling bee at and the date to hold it. If it’s not too big, you might want to talk to one of the schools involved, you could use a gym or auditorium. Contact local celebs such as, newscasters, local athletes, school principals, or even politicians to serve as judges. You will need sponsors for prizes, solicit prizes from local businesses, or purchase prizes yourself. You will need a list of spelling words, their meaning, and how to use in a sentence. You might want to provide the list to all the schools so they can help those students that are going to participate. You will need to write rules and how the bee will work for clarification. On the day of the event, make sure you give the list of words to your judges and the MC. Then execute your plan.
