When you install SP1 in Windows Vista, it removes “Search” option from start menu and you’ll no longer be able to use it from start menu. You can still access it using “F3” key. This tutorial will tell you how can you restore the missing “Search” option in Start menu. We’ll use a workaround, we’ll replace existing “Run” option or “Help & Support” option to restore the missing “Search” option. Restore Search by Replacing “Run” Option in Start Menu: 1. Download following Zip file, extract it and run the extracted .Reg file: Replace Run with Search 2. Restart your system and you’ll see “Search” option in place of “Run”. Restore Search by Replacing “Help & Support” Option: 1. Download following Zip file, extract it and run the extracted .Reg file: Replace Help & Support with Search 2.
