How to replace passenger side mirror on 1996 camry?
I have a 1993 Camry, but this should work for most 90’s models. On the inside of the door, where the power mirror attaches, is a small plastic cover. Pry it off gently with someting that won’t scratch like a plastic spatula. Under it there are 3 hex-headed bolts holding a metal plate and post assembly that anchors the plastic body of the mirror on your door. They’re slotted for a phillips but don’t bother, it just strips right out, use a 5/16 socket to take them off. Hopefully you lowered the window so you can support the mirror assembly with one hand as you remove the last one. After the mirror assembly is detached it’s easier to disconnect the electric connector. Replacement power mirror assemblies run about $35 right now on eBay, so save some money unless you absolutely can’t live without it today. Reconnect the electrical, reattach the 3 main bolts making sure the rubber seal between the mirror and door fits back into place, then snap the plastic cover back in place.
