How to replace fuel pump on a Jeep Wrangler?
The fuel pump is inside the gas tank so the tank needs to be dropped. It is best to have the tank as close to empty as possible because of the weight. Also great care needs to be taken since gas vapor is highly explosive. The sending units usually come with the pump as they quit selling them as separate parts. There are 2 types- 15 & 20 gallon so make sure you get the correct one. When putting the tank back onto the Jeep, be careful to NOT pinch the fuel lines against the frame of you fuel pressure will be very high and it will force gasoline past the piston rings into the oil.
