To repair fiberglass, you need to work from the inside out. Cut away the damaged area and use a grinder to taper the hole. Apply a de-waxing solvent to the exterior of the hole, and then coat it with wax. Next, screw or tape a waxed backer to the bottom of the hole and then coat it with a gelcoat. Cut fiberglass fabric and mat to the size of the hole. To patch the hole, use polyester resin. To harden the resins, you should use methyl ethyl ketone peroxide as a catalyst.
