Removing NIS from a SunOS Server is a two-part process. First, you must edit the ypservers map on your NIS master, removing the defunct slave from the list of servers. Section 3.3 explains how to modify the ypservers map. Second, on the NIS slave, you must follow the normal procedure to remove NIS, described in Section 3.7 above.
