Really depends on your carpet. Is the material natural or synthetic? Natural (wool mostly) material won’t suffer from a acetone treatment, however – the dye might disappear. Try first on the back of the carpet to see if there’s any discolouration. If this is a fitted carpet, try at some hidden corner if the colour changes. In case of synthetic material, do the same – the nail varnish remover might not cause too much harm.
